Blog #6 - There are two of them?

Morning again. It was almost as if the days went by quickly yet, filled with such crazy events. I strutted towards my window to open the curtains to let some natural light in. I stared at the blank window trying to figure out if why all I couldn't see anything. The cat had accidentally turned on the T.V, and I could hear the meteorologist say that there was heavy fog hanging over The Maitland today.

Well, there goes my plans for the day. I remember always hating gloomy weather, especially fog. You can't see anything, the air is always wet, and you feel as though you're drowning,  while still being able to breathe. I decided to stay home for the day. I feel the most productive when I can see the sun, and I have confirmation that it truly is a new day.

I made myself a nice cup of tea and threw myself on my couch with a nice, warm blanket.
"Ding, Dong"
"ugh," I had just sat down, and I was now presented with this great task of removing myself from my comfort zone so approach such irrelevance in my life.

I went ahead and got the door anyways. I didn't need any more suspicions of me from anyone.
It was the mailman, delivering the daily news as always.
As I sat back down with the newspaper, the caption of the paper caught my eye. "The Mystery of Ether Maitland." The paper explained the history of the two Maitland buildings and how the owners were twins that hated each other. I couldn't believe it. Ether wasn't dead which meant the story was once more.

I knew after reading the story; I had to protect myself. This time not only from the people of Maitland but also from the brothers and the Russians. I knew that they would be looking for me once they find out about the news. I quickly locked all of my doors and sat down to reread the paper in case I had missed any details. I was not only fighting for peace but also my life at this point.

    Suggestion
I like the cliffhangers, it is very engaging and makes it interesting for the reader. Maybe you could involve someone else in your problems to help develop the character and see how they interact with others regarding your past, as well as help reveal more about your backstory. Conversations can be easy ways to incorporate elements of the past.
